Installing the Flash Player Plugin
FreeTube makes use of various plugins, one of which is the Flash player plugin. The flash plugin is cross-compatible, meaning that it works on every platform and is available for most popular operating systems and browsers. This tutorial will walk you through the steps involved in installing the Flash Player plugin.
Step 1: Download the freely available
Flash plugin, it is highly advised that you update to or download the latest
version or release of the flash plugin. Download the file to your local hard
drive.

Step 2: Launch the setup file you just downloaded off your hard drive,
and install the flash plugin to a directory of your choice. You
can configure the player options as you see fit, just be sure to install it to a
drive that is accessible to you.

Step 3: Upon completing the installation of the Flash plugin, you may
be asked to restart your computer - restart if necessary. After this has
been done, you should now be able to view videos using flash. Visit
FreeTube Diagnostics to
ensure the plugin works in your browser.
Troubleshooting
Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer you may be prompted to enable or activate
Active X when viewing channels or videos using Flash. In these cases, you
can opt to white list the FreeTube site or you can simply click on the
video screen to activate the video playback stream. This is a security feature
built in to Internet Explorer, but can be disabled by going to Tools>Internet
Options>Security, click on Internet. Click on the Custom Level
button, Enable Download Unsigned Active X controls. However,
this is only advisable if the video streams will not work at all and only at
extreme caution - because while FreeTube is completely safe of
malicious content, leaving this option enabled on other sites may be
dangerous due to malicious coders who may try to sabotage or hurt your computer.
Mozilla Firefox
For problems with Flash and Firefox, please consult the
Mozilla FAQ.
Opera
Opera comes with an in-built flash blocker to increase surfing speed, ensure
that you don't have this enabled while on FreeTube or else you may not be able
to watch channels using Flash to broadcast programs. For any problems, consult
the Opera FAQ.
